  About the Members of Kiwanis of SF
 
 
 
As a youth, Alan Sussman ran away from home to join the circus to specialize in the art of juggling while riding on a unicycle on a tightrope.
  Arno Raynor
Andy Grose retired this summer from his current position, CFO of the Public Policy Institute of California, to specialize in woodworking and furniture building. He is currently a board member of the American Lung Association of San Mateo, Chanticleer, and the African-American Shakespeare Company. He is also an active member of the American Lung Association of San Francisco. An avid reader and passionate woodworker, Andy joined Kiwanis in 1975 for the opportunity to serve the community and for the camaraderie.

Bob Dureault is the current treasurer of Kiwanis. We blame him when something's wrong with our budget. Even when nothing's wrong, we'll blame him anyway.
Charles Scarcello is a current board member of Kiwanis. He is President of Wellington Securities, Inc. and is a member of the California Society of CPA's. In his free time, Charles is involved in the American Decorative Arts Forum. In his free time, he enjoys golf, basketball and antiquing. Charles joined Kiwanis 1978 for the opportunity to serve the community and for the camaraderie.
Clara Shayevich
Dan Kanights is a current board member of Kiwanis and in his free time, runs the California Real Estate Investors which is a company he owns. He is a member of the SF Tennis Club and God Fathers at the St. Vincent School for Boys. Although this hobbiest photographer spends many days chasing after tennis balls, he also enjoys peaceful relaxing activities such as fishing and photography. Dan joined Kiwanis in 1999 to extend social contacts as well as to provide funds for social services.
Dick Gale is a current board member and chair of the charitable funds committee of Kiwanis. He is the creator of Tae Bo. When cornered, he can perform his stunning "boot-to-the-head" maneuver.
Dick Pohli is a current Kiwanis board member. From 1948-1980, he served as a US Navy Captain and from 1982-1994, he served as president of Invest-In-America Council, an non-profit sponsoring economic education for youth. Dick is currently a member of the Golden Gate Breakfast Club, the San Francisco Bay Area Council Boy Scounts of America, and the Bohemian Club. In his free time, Dick enjoys a good book or a game of golf. He joined Kiwanis in 1978 for the camaradie and opportunity to give back to the community.
Donneter Lane's hobbies include translating the works of Deepok Chopra into Elvish.

George Kranen is the current Lt. Governor of Divison 17. His hobbies include abducting aliens and chasing hobbits.

Jack Fleming is about 8 feet tall and will inflate up to three times his normal size when placed in water.
If you catch Jennifer Alexandar in a green 3-piece suit near the end of a rainbow, she'll grant you a wish. Her favorite motto is "Be careful what you wish for, for you may one day get it."
Jim Cooke can hold his breath until he turns blue. If he's feeling very ambitious, he can turn plaid. Really!

John Maxfield is the current president of Kiwanis. His hobbies include juggling and tightrope walking. His proudest moment came when he was able keep 3 bowls of jello in the air for over 10 seconds.
John O'Connor is the Director of Administration a the Public Policy Institute of California. His hobbies include golfing, gardening, biking, hiking, boating and driving his 1960 Morgan DHC. He joined Kiwanis for a sense of community and camaraderie and a way to give something back. His favorite quote is "To sleep: perchance to dream. Ay, there's the rub" from Hamlet. This is what his dad said to him as he was going to sleep growing up.
Kola Thomas is the President/CEO of Pacific Phoenix Development, a group of organizational developers. He is involved with the Y's Men's International, the Oduduwa Heritage Organization, and the Lagos Musical Chorale. He enjoys the theatre arts, music, and is fascinated with language development. Kola joined the Kiwanis in 2001 to expand his horizon of intergenerational and cultural exchange.
Lee Embry - aww, shucks. He's probably one of the sweetest guys you'll ever meet. I won't pick on him.
Lucretia Yeh is a current board member and webmaster of Kiwanis. She's 2'7", 250 lbs has webbed feet and carries around an iron club. Her hobbies include matching wits with her 3-year old and making up dumb hobbies for Kiwanians who haven't submitted their personal information sheets to her.
Mike Milstein is a current board member and program chair of Kiwanis. He is noted for is role as the abominable snowman in Bugs Bunny. His most famous line is, "I will hug him and squeeze him and call him 'George.'"
Norma Cambell
Pamela Rhodes is the Director at WealthCoach, a financial planning firm. She is also involved in ART roads, an art & cooking party company which teaches as it tours. In her free time, when she's not creating her latest masterpiece, she's either golfing or cooking. Her favorite motto is, "Live each day as though it was your last. One day, you'll be right.
 
  Peter L. Dwares
Phil Smith is the Executive Director of SF Harbor Light of the Salvation Army. He is a member of the SF Breakfast Club as well as the National Pastors Organization. He enjoys a good game of softball or golf and enjoys camping and traveling. Phil joined the Kiwanis for the social interactions and community relationships.
  Randall Allen
Richard Bullock is the current secretary of Kiwanis and is the President of both Wellington Securities, Inc., a brokerage firm and Telegraph Hill Group, a travel agency. He is also a member of the Commonwealth Club and the World Affairs Council. In his free time, when he's not volunteering as a hike leader for the Sierra Club, he's off sailing on his yacht. Richard joined Kiwanis in 1992 to network with and service along-side community-minded individuals. His favorite quote is "Showing up is eighty percent of life."
Contrary to popular belief, Robert Brorsen is not related to Fred & Wilma Flinstone. He has, however, claimed ownership of George Jetson's car.
Robert Kenneth is the President of Kenneth Associates. He is involved with the St. Francis Hospital as well as the Hanna Boys Center. He enjoys horse racing, fishing, and reading. A member since 1999, Robert joined Kiwanis for the camaraderie. An eternal optomist, he believes that "no matter how good things are, they can always get better."
